Flash Animation: The Art of Spotting a Chav.

A screenshot of the Flash animation

Design Brief:

Macromedia Flash is primarily used to create interactive pieces of multimedia and animation; therefore the assignment brief reflected this and was to produce an animation lasting no longing than 2 minutes using some form of ActionScripting, with the subject matter being left to individual choice.
Furthermore a storyboard plan had to be developed, in addition to incorporating a 3D animated graphic into the animation using the software package, 3D Studio Max.

Rationale:

It was felt that a humorous subject, one that students could relate to should be the animation topic, and is why the ‘art of spotting a chav’ was chosen.
Inspiration came from old television broadcasts set in movie theatres and is why the animation is in a theatre styled theme with typography and imagery to match.
The animation compromises of tweening, ActionScripting and my own voice recordings for lip synching the character during dialogue.
