Story Website: The Stone Princess.
Design Brief:
The aim of this assignment was to design a website within Macromedia Dreamweaver that told a story, the story could be fictional or one drawn from a personal experience. Stipulations for this assignment was that an about page, discussing the decisions we made and why had to be included and that copyright from sourced images be sought and referenced. Furthermore the XHTML and CSS had to conform and validate to W3C standards.
Rationale:
The story idea, ‘The Stone Princess’ came from an old fairy tale book and was chosen because of its medieval theme. The style of the website was to compliment this theme, which meant typography, images and layout all had to be considered and is evident by the scroll background image, typography, the decorated first letter and the waxed stamp.
In addition to the theme, the websites feature is that it is accessible and is why, there is an alternate entrance on the index page, and all links have accesskey, tabindex attributes assigned to them.
